It doesn\u2019t mean a thing.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vappingo.com\/word-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Vappingo-Three-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2104\" title=\"Vappingo Three Correct\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vappingo.com\/word-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Vappingo-Three-01.jpg\" alt=\"Picture of the number three\" width=\"57\" height=\"57\" \/><\/a>Refudiate.<\/h3>\n<p>Sarah Palin is a massive fan of this made-up word, and she has used it several times in interviews and tweets. Either she likes the word so much that she is trying to make it acceptable, or she doesn\u2019t actually know that it isn\u2019t a real word. We\u2019re putting our money on the latter.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vappingo.com\/word-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Vappingo-Four-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2103\" title=\"Vappingo Four Correct\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vappingo.com\/word-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Vappingo-Four-01.jpg\" alt=\"Picture of the number four\" width=\"57\" height=\"57\" \/><\/a>Supposably.<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;Supposably&#8221; is a word that Americans often confuse with the word \u201csupposedly.\u201d \u201cSupposably\u201d can be used only when the meaning is \u201ccapable of being supposed,\u201d and then only in the U.S.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vappingo.com\/word-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Vappingo-Five-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2102\" title=\"Vappingo Five Correct\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vappingo.com\/word-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Vappingo-Five-01.jpg\" alt=\"Picture of the number five\" width=\"57\" height=\"57\" \/><\/a>Authored.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cAuthor\u201d is a noun that identifies the individual who wrote a document or book, it should not be used as a verb to describe the action of writing.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vappingo.com\/word-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Vappingo-Six-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2101\" title=\"Vappingo Six-01\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vappingo.com\/word-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Vappingo-Six-01.jpg\" alt=\"Picture of the number six\" width=\"57\" height=\"57\" \/><\/a>Alot.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cA lot\u201d consists of two separate words. They should not be condensed down into one word in any circumstances.<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vappingo.com\/word-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Vappingo-Seven-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2100\" title=\"Vappingo Seven-01\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vappingo.com\/word-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Vappingo-Seven-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"57\" height=\"57\" \/><\/a>Alright.<\/h3>\n<p>There\u2019s no such word as \u201calright.\u201d It should be two words: \u201call right.\u201d As grammarian Bill Walsh puts it in his book <em>Lapsing Into a Comma<\/em>, \u201cWe word nerds have known since second grade that alright is not all right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What made-up words do you hear on a regular basis?
